How to Use DOD ID Entry in the Moth+Flame App



Some Moth+Flame training experiences require users to enter their 10-digit Department of Defense Identification Number (DOD ID) to begin. This guide walks you through the simple steps to enter your DOD ID securely within the app.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Begin Onboarding
    After launching the app, you'll first go through a brief onboarding tutorial that shows you how to interact using your headset and gaze or controller.

  2. Enter Your DOD ID
    Once onboarding is complete, you’ll be prompted to enter your 10-digit DOD ID using the on-screen number pad.

  3. Mis-typed a Digit?
    No problem—tap the Back button on the entry screen if you need to make corrections.

  4. Confirm Your Entry
    After entering your full DOD ID, a confirmation screen will appear. Review your entry carefully. If it’s correct, proceed. If not, you can choose to go back and re-enter the number.

  5. Access Your Modules
    Once confirmed, you’ll be taken to the module selection screen, where you can access the training experiences available to you.

Important Privacy and Security Information

  • Your DOD ID is encrypted in transit and at rest to ensure your data is secure.

  • The DOD ID is not visible in any training performance reports or module dashboards.
