Whitelisting Your Domain For Learner Login: Benefits
What is whitelisting?
Whitelisting your domain enables all users with the same email suffix (e.g. @xyz.com) to access your organization's content. Whitelisting an email domain can be a convenient way to grant access to a broad group of learners, especially in scenarios like launch events. However, it comes with trade-offs in terms of security and user control. The choice should be based on the specific needs and priorities of your organization and the nature of the learners' engagement with your content.
Benefits:
- Simplified User Onboarding: Whitelisting the email domain can streamline the user onboarding process. It eliminates the need to individually add every learner's email address to a user group, making it more efficient for administrators.
- Efficient for Large Events: This approach is particularly useful for large-scale events or training sessions where a large number of learners need access quickly. It ensures that every learner can join without prior setup.
- Reduced Administrative Hassles: Administrators don't need to constantly manage user lists, which can be time-consuming and prone to errors. This can free up administrators to focus on other important tasks.
Note
For customers who have access to multiple Organizations (this is unusual): If a learner has been added to an Organization, and they receive a browser player link for a module that is associated with a different Organization, their data will not be recorded unless they are also manually added as a user in the second Organization (even if both Organizations have the user's email domain whitelisted).
