Compliance & Recertification

Compliance & Recertification

What it is

Compliance & Recertification turns the completion records CommandIQ already holds into a live, audit-ready picture of who is certified, who is coming up on their recertification window, and who has lapsed. There's no separate spreadsheet to maintain and no external compliance system to integrate — every learner's status is derived automatically from the course completions already recorded in the platform.

Why it matters

For any program with a certification or recertification requirement, "who is current right now?" is a question that usually means digging through completion dates by hand. This screen answers it instantly: every learner in the program shows up with one clear status — Current, Expiring soon, Expired, or Never — plus the certificate serial number, the certified date, and the expiry date, all in one table. When it's time to prove compliance to an auditor, the same data rolls up into a printable report.

How to use it

Open Compliance from the left-hand navigation (the shield icon).

Statuses and filters

Every learner is bucketed into one of four statuses, shown as filter chips with live counts along the top of the table:

  • Current — holds a valid, unexpired certificate.
  • Expiring soon — inside the recertification window; time to schedule a refresher before the certificate lapses.
  • Expired — the certificate has lapsed and needs to be renewed.
  • Never — hasn't completed the certifying course yet.

Click any chip to filter the roster to just that status. Clicking Current, for example, narrows the table to only the learners holding a valid certificate right now.

Filtering the roster to Current certifications

A search box in the top right lets you jump straight to a specific learner, course, or serial number.

Reading a certified learner's record

Each row in the Current view gives you the full certificate record for that learner: the certified date, the expiry date, and the certificate serial number (for example, MER-CERT-2026-0002) — the same identifier you'd need to reference in an audit.

The recertification window

Click the Expiring chip to see exactly who is inside the recertification window right now. This is the list to work from when scheduling refreshers — recertifying before a certificate lapses keeps a learner out of the Expired bucket entirely.

Every row for a learner who isn't already Current carries a Recertify link, which deep-links straight to that learner's detail panel — the same place an instructor re-fires a module or course — so scheduling a recert doesn't require leaving the screen to go find the learner.

The audit report

Click Audit report in the top right to generate a print-ready compliance summary: the same four status counts as headline tiles, followed by the full certification roster underneath.

Use Print / Save PDF to hand the report to an auditor or file it for your own records — no separate export tool required.

The full roster

Click All at any point to return to the unfiltered view. Every status — Current, Expiring soon, Expired, and Never — is visible together, each with its own colored status pill, so the overall compliance picture is legible at a glance.

Frequently asked

Do I need to integrate an external compliance or LMS system?
No. Every status is derived automatically from completion records CommandIQ already has. Nothing needs to be provisioned.

What counts as "Expiring soon"?
A certificate that is inside its recertification window — approaching its expiry date but not yet lapsed.

How do I recertify a learner?
Click Recertify on their row. It deep-links to their learner detail panel, where you can re-fire the certifying module or course.

Can I hand this to an auditor?
Yes — click Audit report for a print-ready summary with the same status counts and the full roster, then Print / Save PDF.

In short

Compliance & Recertification answers "who's certified, expiring, or lapsed?" the moment you open it — using records CommandIQ already owns, with no external system to stand up. Recertify before a certificate lapses, not after, and keep an audit-ready report one click away.
