CommandIQ turns leadership training into an evidence-based readiness record. Instead of tracking who finished a course, it tracks how ready your people actually are to lead — and it backs every score with the doctrine you trust. This walkthrough follows one scenario end to end: how the training is built, what a learner experiences, the coaching they get, and what the instructor sees.
The Commander’s Readiness Overview rolls up every learner in a course into one picture: a live CommandIQ score, readiness stages from Reactive to Developing to Effective leader, and a trend you can follow by day or by module. You can see progress over time and spot who’s falling behind before it shows up in the field.
Training is built like a commander’s phone. Over about five days a leader gets a drip of text messages and video calls — scheduled scenarios that unfold the way a real week would. You don’t hand-write all of it: pick a topic and some context, and CommandIQ generates the scenario for you.
Here’s the learner’s view of the Rojas — Undermining Authority scenario. It opens with a text from the learner’s coach, Major Holt: a senior NCO has been countermanding the learner’s guidance on the floor, and other NCOs are watching how it gets handled. The learner has to decide — pull him off the floor or keep it going — and then have the hard conversation.
The learner then holds a live video call with the character. They have to open with a clear purpose, stay on the issue, and navigate the tension in real time — exactly the kind of conversation that’s hard to rehearse any other way.
When the conversation ends, the learner is coached right away. CommandIQ names what worked, what to improve, and a priority skill — then gets specific about what to try next time: name one action, one owner, one timeline; address the hard issue directly; and make a concrete decision instead of a broad promise. A Leadership Moments recap grades the key beats of the exchange.
That same conversation becomes an assessment the instructor can see — with more depth than the learner gets: a plain-language performance summary, a trajectory for the module, and a breakdown across every dimension the scenario tested. And it isn’t one lens: CommandIQ scores against the Air Force LDC competencies, Hogan-style derailer risk, and the Full Range Leadership model, so a strength in one framework — or a blind spot in another — doesn’t get missed.
None of this is arbitrary. In the Intelligence workspace you load your own source material — the LDC competency scoring guide, the Full Range Leadership primer, the Hogan mapping — and CommandIQ turns that corpus into the learning objectives, the assessment framework, and the dimensions that steer how every scenario is generated and scored. The coaching a learner gets and the readiness record a commander sees both trace back to the doctrine you trust.
Not just completion — an evidence-based readiness record.
